A few days and weeks after, we found rips of the track from those mixes via Soundcloud, Youtube, Zippyshare with tens of thousands of plays, even before we had signed it to a label. Their career is the story of an uncompromising artistic hussle, a fight for musical independence, a strong belief in making it happen against all odds. What was the main inspiration behind it and what prompted the musical direction you guys took on this?
Original jams and tracks from bona fide House legends alike get rebooted and fly straight into the charts while keeping their original vibe, when these two give em a lick of their unique talent for beats and low frequencies.

By that time, we knew that the track could go far and do good things for all of us in terms of credibility, reach, maybe even sales, if handled the right way. Crazy how much time it sometimes takes from the first track idea to the release, and how much hustle there is in between.

How happy are you with its success so far and how is it being received in your sets this summer? We all know that not everyone understands House Music but even Jack himself couldn’t have wished for a more spiritual, body and soul shakin duo to spread the word. Literally every time we played it, people came up and wanted to know what it was and where they could get it. While many in the scene have moved toward the darker reaches of Techno and Tech House as genre crazes seem to come in waves, Robosonic have re-focused back on the essential groove and swing of the music that got them into all this in the first place.
The three of us were in the studio, in underwear because it was 35 degrees Celsius, stoned out of our minds, looking for samples. This is infectious when working with other DJs and producers: Those tracks propelled the boys into a string of high profile releases and collaborations that hasn’t let up since!
It may be paradox but the way we use, cut and arrange samples even well known ones seems to be an important element of our signature sound.
Characteristic sounds that made it into a few tracks of ours are bass recordings from the Pro One synth, and drums from the MFB drum computer. They’ve been hard at work in the tdins ever since, squeezing more groove out of their tracks than an industrial juicer.
This year, Yoshitoshi invited the guys back to raid the archives, which has resulted in 2 new remixes this summer. Our tracks tend to be quite detailed in their sound design, have lots of warmth, and generally sound organic in a certain way. They have love for all music, which finds its way into their own productions.
Last summer, I Sacha was producing some stuff for the Adana Twins. Robosonic DE Artist – Shape Copy Created with Sketch. On the international plateau, Robosonic are most well know for their Hip Hop infused House – and argueably, no one plays that game better than them, robosobic only when it comes to sampling from records roosonic the past, but also to promoting Hip Hop legends.
It has definitely come a long way. But the guys are no retro junkies!
